Located in an extraordinary place where the two continents meet, Istanbul has impressive venues that take people back in time with its layers of history. The historical environment of the city reflects a refined life quality and taste and it offers unique treasures to people who can appreciate its value. Understanding and appreciating the secrets of a settlement that has been inhabited continuously from prehistory to modern times necessitates the acquisition of in-depth knowledge, therefore, a closer inspection of it.

In recent years, there is an increase in the efforts to raise the awareness of the preservation of the historical monuments with their surroundings in accordance with their original architecture and transfer this awareness to future generations. Preserving of the areas where are currently present and are highly enjoyed by both locals and visitors including the Historical Peninsula, Eyup, Galata, Uskudar, and the Bosphorus and inheriting these areas to future generations are possible only with serious and long term efforts.

In order to increase the recognition of Istanbul, which is in the UNESCO World Heritage List, the book named “World Heritage Istanbul” is edited by the experts of the city and is presented to our readers.
