The second edition of the book "The Evolution of Traditional Safranbolu Houses" ran out of print in a short time; an indication of the interest in Safranbolu and the Turkish House. Upon the request of the Building & Industry Centre to publish also an Engilsh version of the book, I thought it would be wiser to first introduce the Turkish House in general, rather than bringing the foreign reader directly face to face with the houses of Safranbolu. This could provide the readers with a chance to locate the place of Safranbolu Houses within this broad context. This was how the new section was added and the book was re-named "Tradition of The Turkish House and Safranbolu Houses".
